“The award for Best German Weblog goes – to Israel. The author, writing as ‘Lila’, is German and emigrated to Israel some 18 years ago to live in a kibbuz. For some years now she has been blogging about kibbuz life, about her work as an historian of art, about her family with four children – becoming an authentic source of information about these aspects of Israel for the German speaking world. \nThis year the life Lila writes about includes a war. About this she wrote comparing in a very critical way the media reports from Israel, Germany and the US, pointing out one-sidedness, double standards, contradictions and manipulative language. She added descriptions of everyday life in Israel and how it was affected by the war. This made hers a unique voice and a unique source of information that was used and quoted even in the established media.
