Eigentlich bestand der Tag aus einem ausf\u00fchrlichen Zufallsgespr\u00e4ch, einem ausf\u00fchrlichen Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck, einem ausf\u00fchrlichen Spaziergang und einem ausf\u00fchrlichen geplanten Gespr\u00e4ch.<\/p>\n

Doch abends auf der Tramfahrt zur\u00fcck ins Hotel erreichte mich die erste besorgte Nachfrage per SMS aus der Schweiz: Ein Freund schrieb, das Fernsehen berichte von einer Schie\u00dferei in M\u00fcnchen, ob es mir gut gehe? Ich recherchierte sofort nach dem Grund der Frage – und verbrachte, unterbrochen vom Abendbroteinkauf im Supermarkt, den Abend \u00fcber Meldungen aus M\u00fcnchen. Im Olympiaeinkaufszentrum hatte jemand mehrere Menschen erschossen und war auf der Flucht, M\u00fcnchen stoppte den \u00d6ffentlichen Nahverkehr und forderte die Menschen auf, m\u00f6glichst da zu bleiben, wo sie waren.<\/p>\n

Sobald es die M\u00f6glichkeit gab, markierte ich mich bei Facebook als “safe” – was ganz offensichtlich (Likes) schnell registriert wurde. Herr Kaltmamsell meldete unsere Wohnung auf Twitter als #offeneT\u00fcr, damit in der Innenstadt Gestrandete dort unterkommen konnten. Ich las zwischen Twitter und Techniktagebuchchat, blieb dann aber am Ticker der S\u00fcddeutschen Zeitung<\/i> h\u00e4ngen: Die hatte mehrere Hand voll Personal vor Ort und fand die Balance zwischen Tempo und Verl\u00e4sslichkeit. Gegen 23 Uhr machte ich mir klar, dass ich weder etwas tun konnte noch irgendetwas in n\u00e4chster Zeit best\u00e4tigt werden w\u00fcrde und ging ins Bett.<\/p>\n

Bis dahin: Morgens verlie\u00df ich das Haus erst mal f\u00fcr einen Kaffee.<\/p>\n

Diesen Ort, den Antonplatz, erkannte bei Twitter eine langj\u00e4hrige Twitterfreundin, die gleich ums Eck wohnt: Sie st\u00fcrzte umgehend aus dem Haus und fing mich ab. Sie begleitete mich bis zum Lokal, das ich mir f\u00fcrs Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck ausgesucht hatte, zum Pasternak. Genug Zeit, einander auf den neuesten Stand des Lebens zu bringen.<\/p>\n

Da ich ja schon Kaffee gehabt hatte, trank ich zum Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck Kwas, den ich hier zu sch\u00e4tzen gelernt hatte.<\/p>\n

Ich erg\u00f6tzte mich an den v\u00f6llig distanzlosen Spatzen. Der im Bild hatte gerade das kleine Croissant aus meinem Brotkorb gezupft (und es dann fallen gelassen, ich konnte es mir wiederholen).<\/p>\n

Nachmittags war ich in Charlottenburg verabredet. Da ich Zeit hatte und das Wetter perfekt sommerlich war, ging ich zwei Stunden zu Fu\u00df – und entdeckte dabei unter anderem den Landwehrkanal (wo auch endlich Pok\u00e9monGo funktionierte und ich ein paar von den Viechern fangen konnte).<\/p>\n

In Charlottenburg frischte ich dann eine sehr langj\u00e4hrige Bloggerinnenfreundschaft auf – um den Preis, dass wir uns mit Schmerzen trennten und unter dem Seufzer, dass wir einander dringend viel \u00f6fter sehen m\u00fcssen.<\/p>\n

Zur\u00fcck ging ich wieder den Landwehrkanal entlang, bis ich dem Umstand ins Auge sehen musste, dass auch noch so bequeme Sandalen irgendwann scheuern und Blasen verursachen. Also ging ich zum n\u00e4chstgelegenen S-Bahnhof (Tiergarten).<\/p>\n

Geert Wilders is also a true believer. I am introduced to the euro-fascist and his dead-badger hair by a genial young Dutchman I met earlier on Tinder. He tells Wilders that I am a left wing journalist, and Wilders does not alter his tone of voice as he turns to me and starts vaguely explaining how the whole of France is about to be abolished and replaced with a giant Halal kebab.<\/p>\n

Wilders is the most obviously disturbed member of the neo-right suicide squad in attendance. He cannot finish a sentence. His voice drifts, and he trails away, already out of the room. There is a dustbin fire behind the blank eyes of his human suit.<\/p>\n

Wilders is a less polished, wholly charmless rendition of the neo-right demagogue character creation sheet that gave us Donald Trump and Boris Johnson. These people do not have personalities, they have haircuts. Ugly ones. And we have fallen through the looking glass in which they see themselves reflected as small gods.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In der aktuellen Ausgabe der New York Review of Books<\/i> kommt Zadie Smith mit einem Essay \u00fcber Brexit und ihrer Erkl\u00e4rung des Wahlergebnisses zu Wort:

Sehr lang und ausf\u00fchrlich, absolut lesenswert. Smith f\u00fchrt zum Thema, indem sie \u00fcber die Gegend Londons schreibt, in der sie aufgewachsen ist und in der sie vor\u00fcbergehend ihre Kinder zur Schule schickt. Am Unterschied des Verh\u00e4ltnisses der Bev\u00f6lkerungsschichten fr\u00fcher und heute zeigt sie auf, was seither schief gegangen ist. Und worin die Hybris der gebildeten Mittelschicht besteht, die vom Brexit-Ergebnis schockiert war.<\/p>\n
